Earlier today, Next Generation InfraCo (NGIC), a 4G and 5G Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) operator, in partnership with Radisys and other partners, announced the launch of 5G in Ghana, redefining the nation’s connectivity. 5G is more than just faster speeds; it is a transformative leap that will reshape industries, open new economic avenues, and redefine how people live and work.

Over the past few decades, we've witnessed the accelerated evolution of digital engagement solutions, from the early days of mobile voice to the addition of mobile broadband data and the use of AI and machine learning, video analytics and connected everything potential with 5G networks. This shift across the telecommunications landscape has enabled people to remain connected anywhere, at any time, transforming global commerce and industry operations.

With the recent advancements in Communication Platform as a Service (CPaaS) technology, communications solutions providers (CSPs) have a unique opportunity to help enterprises create streamlined experiences for customers and employees using CPaaS solutions. By working directly with enterprises to understand customer challenges, CSPs can develop a CPaaS solution to specifically meet that challenge. Enterprises can then leverage these CPaaS solutions to bolster their overall customer experience and gain a competitive advantage over other businesses.

Virtual and hybrid work environments have become significantly more common due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While there are numerous benefits to this type of work, including the flexibility and freedom that they provide, employees are also experiencing many downsides, particularly with the loss of communication and camaraderie that comes with working alongside colleagues in person. Specifically, younger employees, who rely on a community of peers to socialize with and the knowledge of mentors, are feeling disconnected from their companies.

Recently, I had the opportunity to participate alongside fellow telecommunications colleagues in a CPaaS Acceleration Alliance panel discussion to explore the importance of CPaaS technology in reinventing and transforming patient care in the healthcare industry.
